About Kirbyville Wildcat 4-H

MAKING THE BEST BETTER

Kirbyville Wildcat 4-H has made tremendous impact thanks to the help of members and parent volunteers in the Kirbyville community.

Kirbyville Wildcat 4-H has more than doubled in numbers in the last few years. They have also helped form the Jasper County Robotic Club, inviting other Jasper 4-H Clubs to join. Last year, the Robotic club competed at county, district, and state levels.

Wildcat 4-H members also competed in Photography with members placing at county and district. Two members had photographs that went to state competition.

Several members have also competed in the Food Challenge last year and have formed a club this year, adding several teams in each age category.

Wildcat 4-H members are encouraged to complete record books. Several members had their record make it to district and two members placed at state competition. Additionally, three members have earned their Silver Star and two have earned their Gold Star Award, the highest award in 4-H.

Wildcat 4-H strives to challenge its members to excel in all areas and to be of service to their community.

"The hallmark of successful people is that they are always stretching themselves to learn new things." - Carol S. Dweck

He is excited to graduate next May and is trying to decide which college he will attend once he graduates. Amanda said she has had many roles and titles in my life. Some have more weight than others. “None of those titles, save being a mom, has brought me more joy than 4-H Sponsor. Watching these kids learn, grow, mature, and lead has been nothing short of amazing. I look forward to each time we have an event or meeting to see what they do next. I wish you could have seen where they started off two years ago so that you can see how far they have come. But I promise you, as Dylan has gone farther than any other 4-H member in our area has done, there are those coming up behind him ready to go just as far. The 4-H motto is To Make the Best Better. I can attest that these kids have truly been made better and by extension, myself.”

Jasper County 4-H is under District 5. More than 65,000 Texas youth are enrolled members of 4-H community clubs in Texas. Another 850,000 Texas youth get involved in 4-H through special educational opportunities at school, in after school programs, or at neighborhood or youth centers. These youth live in cities, suburbs, small towns and rural communities.

Texas 4-H Website is a wealth of information. All 4-H members must be enrolled in one project. A project is the “activity” you choose to do in 4-H. We have resources to help you learn about the activity, and volunteers or your agent in your county will help guide you along, as well. There are opportunities like community service, leadership, and contests that can be associated with your project!
