Veterinary Science Certificate Program
Sarah Thames has successfully completed the rigorous Veterinary Assistant Program, gaining both the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to thrive in the animal care field. Through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Veterinary Medicine program, she completed 100 instructional lessons and accumulated 225 hours of apprenticeship experience. This program, offered through the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Veterinary Science Certificate Program, prepares students to sit for the industry-based certification exam and lays the groundwork for a future in veterinary science. She successfully passed the Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA) exam, earning her certification before even graduating from high school. She is the first student in the club to achieve this milestone, setting a precedent and paving the way for future participants. This accomplishment not only reflects her dedication but also positions her strongly as she enters college. Admission into veterinary school is notoriously competitive—often more so than medical school—so every advantage she gains over the next few years will significantly enhance her prospects of acceptance into a veterinary program and ultimately earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)."
